CLEVELAND, Texas — Officials with the Conroe Independent School District said a student took to social media on Friday to threaten a shooting at a Caney Creek High School game.
According to officials from another district, Cleveland ISD, they were briefed on the student who reportedly threatened Caney Creek before a boys’ football game. The two teams were expected to face off on Friday night.
Conroe ISD officials say the incident was a case of disruptive student behavior and the student posted the threat as a prank.
In addition, they stated that there was no intent to harm anyone and that the consequences for that student would be managed in accordance with the CISD Code of Conduct for Students.
Cleveland ISD released the following statement:
“It’s important that we let our parents and the community know about situations like this. Superintendent McCanless wanted to update our athletic and student parents of the circumstances. As always, at Cleveland ISD, the safety of our students will continue to be our top priority.”
