Sunbird App Brings Unified Messaging to India with iMessage on Android

Sunbird Messaging, the latest unified messaging app for Android users, focuses on Indian consumers to increase its waiting list.

Sunbird reported that its waitlist has surpassed 100,000 waitlist signups. “We aim to serve the unique messaging needs of consumers in all parts of the world starting with India,” said Danny Mizrahi, CEO of Sunbird Messaging. “In addition to iMessage on Android phones, every country and region has unique messaging preferences, and we want to build an all-in-one app that works as universally as possible,” he adds.

Sunbird App is preparing to provide Android users with:

Put iMessage on Android mobile devices without computer or Apple device.

Unify top messaging apps including but not limited to WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Instagram Direct Messaging, SMS, Telegram, Discord, RCS and Slack.

Allow users to send high-resolution photos and videos via SMS.

New security encryption between Android and Apple devices.

To sign up for Sunbird’s waitlist, Android users need to visit sunbirdapp.com. The app will be available on the Google Play Store during the beta launch this summer.

According to businessofapps.com statistics from February 2023, there are currently around 2.5 billion active Android users in 190 countries. Sunbird is ramping up its global awareness efforts in specific regions and countries around the world, starting with India.

“Anywhere in the world that Android and iPhone users communicate, there is a need for Sunbird,” explains Mizrahi. “Our goal is to solve the long-standing messaging challenges between devices once and for all, but that’s just the beginning,” he adds.

Sunbird emphasizes a highly secure messaging environment for its users. According to Mizrahi, text messages remain encrypted — and are not stored on Sunbird’s servers. “By encrypting text messages between iPhones and Android devices, Sunbird adds a new layer of security innovation that sets us apart from other unified messaging apps.”

Of the 100,000 signups on the waitlist, about 5% are alpha testing the app. Sunbird began alpha test flights in late December 2022 and is tracking a 100% success rate for receiving iMessage on Android. Sunbird will continue to do alpha testing, adding thousands of waitlisted users who will volunteer to test the app and provide feedback through April.

“Alpha testing has proven to be a success, giving our teams insight into everything from product development to growth strategy,” says Mizrahi. He added, “Sunbird requires Android users to have an active Apple ID, and numerous alpha testers are using their Apple ID to sign up for Apple TV subscriptions for the first time,” Mizrahi announces.

Sunbird is targeting a beta launch of iMessage on Android devices in late summer 2023 with a 100% success rate for all users worldwide. Beta launch details will be announced at a later date.

Sunbird introduced itself to US consumers as an early-stage startup in December 2022, drawing attention from leading US tech news sites such as Digital Trends, Apple Insider, Android Authority, Phone Arena and others.
