The CBI has arrested a 35-year-old graduate student from Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu for allegedly raping children, officials said on Saturday. The agency had filed a case against the defendant for allegedly creating and distributing child sexual abuse material in electronic form. They said the CBI found images and videos of child sexual abuse in the Interpol database. His further analysis using digital forensic tools relayed the location of the incident to Thanjavur district. The agency conducted searches at the defendant’s premises, which led to the seizure of incriminating electronic equipment, officials said.
The defendant was accused of sexually abusing a child over the past four years, whose nude videos and photos were uploaded to his Google account. It was further alleged that the defendant coerced two minors (a man and a woman) to perform sexual acts on them as well as other minors, including a girl, officials said.
The defendant then clicked on the photos and videos and forced them to bring more girls or he would publish the material on the internet, officials claimed.
