The One UI 6 (Android 14) beta is expected to appear on the Galaxy S23 in July

What you need to know Samsung’s One UI 6 beta could start in the third week of July, according to new rumours. This beta program could start with the Galaxy S23 series before later integrating older devices. The schedule is for the beta program to begin a week before Samsung’s Unpacked event in Seoul, where people could learn more about the operating system.

With Android 14 development nearing completion, Samsung device owners may not have to wait long to try out their new operating system.

Reportedly, Samsung’s One UI 6 beta program (based on Android 14) is preparing to launch in the third week of July, according to information obtained by SamMobile. Users with a device from the latest Galaxy S23 series may be the first to participate in this beta before it rolls over to other earlier generation devices.

Last month Samsung was spotted starting internal testing of the One UI 6 software in the newer S23 series along with the wave of foldable phones in 2022. At the time, people noted that the Korean tech giant did it “two months” ahead of previous years. With internal testing starting much earlier, it makes sense that the public beta program would start earlier as well.

Information obtained from SamMobile doubles down on a leak we heard almost two weeks ago that indicated Samsung’s potential timeframe for the new beta program. The company is rumored to be aiming for the launch of the new software “mid-July”. We therefore assume that the beta version of the new software will probably be introduced in the third week of July.

Google has already rolled out its beta 3 build, meaning the latest operating system has cleared a major hurdle as we move closer to its full release later this summer. After Google hits this milestone, Samsung (and others) can start preparing betas for their skins on the new software after it’s stable.

Unfortunately, there is not much to say about Samsung’s One UI 6. We have some new features and minor UI changes for devices running Android 14, as in previous betas. However, Samsung’s VP mentioned late last year that the company was interested in offering seamless updates with One UI 6.

The company confirmed that its Summer Unpacked event would be held earlier and on home soil in Seoul, South Korea. Considering this was supposed to happen a week after the One UI 6 beta program started, we might see a few teasers on what to expect from the Korean OEM.

Additionally, SamMobile anticipates that a fully stable rollout of One UI 6 could come a few months after Android 14’s full launch in August.
