The power of social media drives Greg Van Alst to his third Daytona ARCA launch

The power of social media is real.

Sponsorships fuel motorsport competition and the ARCA Menards Series is no different.

And for both drivers and car owners, the 2022 ARCA Menards Series season would not have been possible without the help of CB Fabrication.

However, in all things racing, money buys speed and additional resources that allow any organization to improve, and Greg Van Alst Motorsports is no exception.

After another successful preseason test of the ARCA Menards Series at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway in January, another upbeat mood set for the underfunded team, with the Anderson, Ind. native having an even bigger question about how his third trip in a row “World Center of Racing” actually happened?

Van Alst had to allocate personal funds he put into his racing dream last season and knew if he was going to keep his ARCA team intact for the bigger picture he needed help in the form of sponsorships.

Van Alst kept seeing where companies across the country were reaching out to help others in similar situations via social media, and Van Alst decided to take the same approach.

The response was greater than Van Alst could have imagined.

“I want our Greg Van Alst Motorsports team to be successful and I knew the only way to make that happen was to get additional funding not just for Daytona but for other races this season as well.” said Van Alst. “I am grateful and appreciative of CB Fabricating’s continued support, but the power of social media is real.

“It has worked for us and to a greater extent than we could have ever imagined. I’ve heard from people from my hometown to companies across the country who just wanted to be a part of our wider journey. It’s awesome and a bit overwhelming, but I’m incredibly grateful and hope this is just the beginning of great things.”

Verns Concrete, CB Fabricating and Sam Pierce Chevrolet have taken on the principal sponsorship role for Van Alst’s #35 Chevrolet SS, but 17 other companies have all pledged their support for the opening race of the 2023 ARCA Menards Series season.

“EKAN Crude LLC, MVP Purchasing, CBT Detail, Borchers Sheet Metal, Hertz Law Firm, Johnsons Family Plumbing, Norton Transport, Lintz Design, FCS Underdog Racing Podcast, Brandon Barcus Racing, Lonestar Racing, Garnet Valley Jaguars, Ranch Road Fencing, Martin Exotics, Knightstown Family Fitness, Riggins Innovations and Top Choice Fence have also all been instrumental in keeping my motorsport dream alive.

“Without these 20 companies, our participation in the BRANDT 200 on Saturday afternoon would not have been possible. There is only one way for me to thank them properly and that is to put our #35 Chevrolet into victory lane.”

Holding a full-time job, spending countless hours in between and nights doing what needs to be done to keep Greg Van Alst Motorsports on the circuit, the former CRA | ARCA Champion is about to launch a dedicated page on its website to launch, where companies can recruit their latest marketing initiative about the experienced ARCA racer.

“We plan to run the entire 2023 ARCA Menards Series schedule and the more support the better for us this year,” added Van Alst. “I know we can do it economically and if we can muster as much support as we did at Daytona for most of the season, it’s going to be a great year.” Van Alst set the seventh fastest lap in practice and qualified on Friday afternoon as Seventh for his 32nd career ARCA start.
