Some of the most important markets for the mobile gaming segment are China, Japan, USA, South Korea and Canada. But India is also moving fast and now has a burgeoning local market for mobile games.

By 2027, the number of mobile phone gamers in the country is expected to grow to 239 million. User growth is 13.8% this year and is expected to reach 16.3% by 2027.
With over 1.5 billion phone numbers, India is the second largest country with the most mobile phone users. With over 1.6 billion phone numbers, it is right behind China.
As of 2022, an estimated 840 million of these mobile users are online, and that’s 60% of the country’s population.
When it comes to which Indian states play mobile games the most, these are Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Bihar and West Bengal.
Why mobile gaming is more than successful in India
The pandemic has clearly been a key driver of the sector’s substantial growth in recent years. Apart from that, the rollout of 5G connection is in the country. Last year was a big year for telecom companies to finally make 5G services available.
Telecom companies have successfully achieved their deployment targets, but they are not finished yet, and the government is also making efforts to promote 5G deployment in various key segments.
