Finding EV charging stations can be a bit of a chore at times, but the Waze Maps app is here to save the day. A recent update of this app adds charging stations to help users find the closest place to charge when needed. EV owners will find this new feature in the navigation app very helpful.
As most regions transition from fuel-powered cars to electric options, there is a need to fit into the overall EV process. This includes understanding the range when fully charged and locating charging stations in your area. It may not be difficult to familiarize yourself with charging stations in your area, but what about other locations?
It would be nerve-wracking to find all the charging stations in the region where you live on your own. But having an app that could guide you to nearby charging stations would be great. Waze now takes the stress out of finding a charging station while driving.
Easily find electric vehicle charging stations with the Waze Maps app
A recent update to the Waze Maps app brings EV charging stations to the navigation platform. While driving your electric vehicle in an area you are unfamiliar with, simply pull up your Waze Maps app and locate the nearest charging station. This saves you the stress of asking for directions and also gets you to the station on time before your electric vehicle battery dies.
With most regions still gradually transitioning to electric vehicles, there may be many changes in charging station locations. This poses a challenge for finding a charging station on most maps. Waze, for its part, has provided a solution to this problem, making its new update more reliable for electric vehicle owners.
To accurately locate an EV charging station, Waze relies on local map editors from its community. All location data fed to the map platform is constantly checked to keep it up to date. The map is therefore constantly updated as soon as a new station is set up or dismantled at different locations.
Regardless of the route you take, Waze will let you know about nearby charging stations, if any. This is an impressive feature that will prove helpful to EV owners around the world. Over the coming weeks, the Waze Maps app update with this feature will roll out to one region at a time.
