The highly-anticipated next-gen update to Witcher 3: Wild Hunt features a lot of things: ray tracing, DLSS, a 60fps performance mode, and what appears to be fully formed labia. Yes, it appears that the updated version of the hugely popular CDPR game (released as a free download last December) has added realistic genitalia for its full frontal ladies, complete with neatly trimmed runways. It’s not yet known if this racy aspect of the game will make it into the next season of Netflix’s Liam Hemsworth-led show.

In the 2015 version of the game (which has won more than 200 Game of the Year awards and is considered one of the best RPGs of all time), every female frontal nudity had a distinct Barbie doll effect: incredibly smooth and hairless pubic mound and that Total absence of discernible labia majora. Of course, explicit mods that gave the often-naked female NPCs “visible vaginas and pubic hair” popped up, because men exist and the internet has gotten out of hand. This has collected about 188,000 downloads.
Now however, according to NSFW screenshots shared on Reddit and some real gamer testimonies – my fiancé was surprised when he tried to take a picture in photo mode and noticed that a bruxa had a whole bruxussy – some of The Witcher 3 women have fully formed vaginas and perfectly coiffed pubic hair. (It only seems like the ones that are monsters, RIP.)
Although I can’t get to a point in the game to confirm this (the only full frontal female nudity I’m aware of is either the three hags in Crookback Bog or the Bruxae you may encounter in your travels) , I headed to the Passiflora brothel in Novigrad and remembered a bug in the original version of the game where one of the sex workers was completely naked in the bathtub. You could make her get up by unceremoniously jumping in fully clothed. In the next-gen version of The Witcher 3, she wears panties no matter how many times I reload a save or exit and re-enter Passiflora.

With The Witcher 3’s next-gen updates featuring “fully integrated fan-made mods including 4K textures and models,” it’s only natural to consider that the realistic vagina is one of those mods — especially when the choice of Pubic hair so clearly is similar to one of the options of the mod. So I contacted CDPR for comment. “We’re looking into this and will have more information in the coming days,” an employee told me via email.
I’ve also reached out to the creator of the above mod via NexusMods DMs, but didn’t get a response in time for release (they haven’t been active in years). When we receive confirmation that The Witcher 3 next-gen updates have redefined what 4K textures mean, we’ll update this story accordingly.
