Former President Donald Trump’s defense attorneys believe the probe into efforts by Trump and his allies to overturn the results of Georgia’s 2020 general election has been tainted by
“We have lost 100 percent confidence in this process. We believe that process has been compromised,” attorney Drew Findling said in an interview with CBS News’ Face the Nation.
2020 ELECTION JAMMER GRAND JURY Believes at least one witness committed perjury
Findling’s comments come after special jury foreman Emily Kohrs pointed out that the report, which came out on February 16 after a nearly year-long investigation and remains mostly sealed, contains evidence of charges against several people and that it is “not a short list.” is.
If Trump is charged, his attorneys said they would “fight absolutely everything tooth and nail.”
“We have absolutely no belief that our client did anything wrong, and if charges are made, they are flawed charges,” said Jennifer Little, another Trump defense attorney.

If Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis decides to go ahead, several high-profile witnesses — including Mark Meadows, Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman and Trump himself — could face criminal prosecution.
Names linked to possible charges have not been released to protect the rights of “defendants”. Kohrs has appeared on several talk shows and given several interviews on the subject, showing more than a dozen people have been recommended for charges. So far, she has not broken any rules related to what information the judge decides can or cannot be made public, but her revelations about the ongoing case are unconventional.
However, Kohrs’ media tour could backfire and risk damaging Willis’ ability to bring the witnesses before a jury on criminal charges — something that Findling foresaw.
“Shall the results of this special purpose grand jury be crumpled up like a piece of paper and thrown in a wastebasket?” said foundling. “Our options are, can this prosecutor continue to be part of this case? We need to legally investigate all these issues.”
Findling also said that Kohrs was not at fault, noting that her behavior tended to give Trump’s attorneys an advantage.
“This 30-year-old foreman actually gave us a lens and made us realize that whatever suspicions we had about this questionable process were actually reality,” Findling said. “We don’t fret about this forewoman. And it looks like they’ve lost perspective on maintaining the separation between prosecutors and members of this grand jury.”
Little said he was “surprised” he wasn’t called during the grand jury investigation. Kohrs said in an interview, “Trump wasn’t a fight we chose.”
“It was surprising, especially when we heard the reasons why he wasn’t called,” Little said. She referenced an interview Kohrs did with CNN in which she said it was “exciting” and “cool” to have “60 Seconds” to talk to Trump.
“They just realized that given the resources and the other witnesses they’ve heard from, they just don’t need any more evidence at this point,” Little said. “It is worrying that so much care has been shown in this decision.”

Trump’s response to subpoenas in other investigations suggests he may not have appeared before that grand jury even if they had requested his testimony. In November 2022, the House Select Committee investigating the January 6 riot in the Capitol revealed that Trump was not cooperating with the subpoena sent nearly a month earlier.
Trump attorneys will also fight a subpoena from Special Counsel Jack Smith asking Vice President Mike Pence to testify about Trump’s failed effort to overturn the 2020 election on executive privilege grounds.
