‘Unreal’: Fan makes portrait of cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin, Internet impressed

It is difficult to tell at first glance whether it is a painting or a photograph.

Indian bowler Ravichandran Ashwin is admired by millions of cricket fans across the country for his skill and dedication to the game. He recently passed the 450 Test wicket mark in the final game against Australia, becoming only the second Indian bowler in history to win 100 wickets in Tests against Australia.

Recently a fan of the cricket ace made a portrait for the cricketer and the resemblance is uncanny. It looks like someone clicked on a photo of the cricketer. It will be very difficult to tell at first glance whether it is a painting or a photograph. Mr Ashwin stands against a black background while wearing the Indian blue jersey with a ball in hand. The handcrafted portrait of the bowler wowed the internet with the fan’s talent. The realistic aspect of the painting sets it apart from the rest.

The post was shared by WG RumblePants on Twitter. He wrote in the caption: “This has been a challenging painting but delighted to complete it today after @ashwinravi99 has already won two superb wickets. I don’t suppose it’s realistic to expect him to see it, but it would be nice if he did eventually, so any retweets will be very gratefully received.”
