vivo V27 Pro, V27 are officially paired with 50MP cameras, V27e tags

March 01, 2023

The vivo V27 series is official and we have seen the announcement of three smartphones – vivo V27 Pro, vivo V27 and vivo V27e. All three phones offer impressive portrait capabilities and flagship cameras, but most importantly, they all sell for under $500.

vivo V27 Pro & vivo V27

These two phones are practically identical with one big difference – the Mediatek chipset. The Pro is equipped with the Dimensity 8200 – a powerful 4nm platform for borderline premium smartphones with a 3.1GHz CPU. The vanilla variant is powered by a Dimensity 7200 – also built on the 4nm process, but the fastest CPU cores are clocked at 2.8GHz, while the GPU remains Mali-G610.

Now that we’ve got the difference out of the way, here are all the specs these two phones have in common. Vivo has equipped them with 6.78-inch AMOLEDs with a 120Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution.

The camera setup is the proudest feature for both devices. The vivo V27 Pro and vivo V27 have a 50 MP main camera with a custom Sony IMX766V sensor and an f/1.8 aperture and OIS. The second shooter on the back is an 8 MP ultra wide angle and the third is a 2 MP macro camera. There’s also a ring LED flash right next to the top lens.

The front camera behind a hole is also impressive – 50 MP with AF. Vivo has tricked the phones with numerous software enhancements for photos and videos, including Real-Time Extreme Night Vision, Super Night Video and something called Hybrid Image Stabilization, which digitally fixes shake in videos.

Speaking of software: Funtouch OS 13, based on Android 13. The phones also support dual-mode 5G in both SA and NSA networks, Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 2.4GHz/5GHz. The USB-C on the bottom is for the 4,600mAh battery with 66W fast charging – on both the Vanilla and Pro.

The phones may have the same 182g body, but the Pro is only sold in the Magic Blue color, which changes its hue under sunlight (or any other UV light), or the normal Noble Black colors, while the vanilla Option also offered in Emerald Green and Flowing Gold.

The vivo V27 Pro has three storage options – 8/128GB, 8/256GB, and 12/256GB, and the starting price is $459, which is subject to change based on local market conditions. We’ve already reviewed it and found it to be an excellent phone with a slightly personable design.

The vivo V27 is offered with 8/256GB or 12/256GB storage for $399, again the price may vary slightly in different countries and regions.

vivo V27e

The vivo V27e is for regions where 5G networks are not available as vivo offers the device with a Mediatek Helio G99 chipset that only supports LTE. The V27e is practically the same on the back, with three cameras lined up vertically, but the combo is 64MP main camera with OIS + 2MP bokeh + 2MP macro. The selfie shooter has 32 MP with a fixed focus.

The vivo V27e differs from the other two phones with its flat screen and flat sides. The 6.62-inch AMOLED panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate. Storage is 128GB while RAM is 8GB, which can be expanded up to 8GB using the “Extended RAM” feature in the Settings menu can.

This phone has borrowed the 4,600mAh battery with 66W fast charging from its more powerful siblings, as well as the Android 13-based Funtouch OS 13. It’s also extremely thin – just 7.7mm in the base.

vivo V27e

The vivo V27e is available to pre-order in Glory Black and Lavender Purple, with the latter being the hero color. Starting price is $289 and is subject to change based on local market conditions.
