Leigh Wood and Mauricio Lara will finally face off.
After months of delays, Leigh Wood will finally defend his WBA featherweight world title against dangerous Mexican Mauricio Lara.
The pair were originally set to meet last year but a bicep injury forced Wood to pull out of the fight but now the Nottingham man has a chance to set the record straight in a rivalry that has become personal.
Wood is once again supported by his vocal fanbase who got him over the line against Michael Conlan last March and he hopes they can once again inspire him to defeat one of the featherweight division’s most feared fighters.
