The ability to recognize text in images is available to some beta testers who install the latest update from the TestFlight app.
WhatsApp update: Good news for iPhone users around the world is that Meta-owned instant messaging application WhatsApp is reportedly rolling out the ability to recognize text in images in your conversations on iOS 16. However, only beta testers can use this new feature for now.
According to WABetaInfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp, the feature is already available in its beta version. Beta testers can simply open an image containing text and verify the presence of the text recognition button. When the button is visible, you can start extracting text from images in your conversations.

It should be noted that this feature is specific to iOS 16 and is not a service provided by WhatsApp. Instead, WhatsApp has started supporting this feature by using the system API. Because it’s a feature of iOS 16, you can’t extract text from images if you’re using an older version of iOS, the report added.
The ability to recognize text in images is available to some beta testers who install the latest update from the TestFlight app. The report claims that it will be widely rolled out to even more users in the coming days.
Upcoming WhatsApp features in 2023

– WhatsApp is also expected to release a new status feature. Just like photos, videos and links, users can share voice memos on statuses.
