WhatsApp has released a new desktop app for Windows that loads faster and allows for group video calls of up to 8 people and audio calls of 32 people.
According to WABetaInfo, the WhatsApp monitoring platform, the new app offers end-to-end encryption for messages, media, and calls across multiple devices, improved syncing, and other new features.

The user interface of the new app is strikingly similar to the mobile version.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who recently announced the birth of his third child, mentioned the new app in a recent post.
He said:
“Introducing a new WhatsApp desktop app for Windows. Now you can make E2E encrypted video calls with up to 8 people and audio calls with up to 32 people.”
TechCrunch reports that the premium messaging platform has focused on enhancing its desktop user experience by linking multiple devices, allowing users to have one account across multiple devices.

The company is also testing versions adapted for Android tablets.
