Applications Martian Math and Let’s Cook bring more K-12 STEM activities to millions of learners
SAN JOSE, California., January 18, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — zspace, a Silicon Valley education company, today announced it has expanded its math software offering with a new application, Martian Math, and an update to the Let’s Cook application on its augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR) laptop, Inspire. The zSpace Inspire is an AR/VR laptop that does not require a head-mounted display or 3D glasses. A wide range of STEM and career, technical education, sports, modeling and simulation applications are available on the Inspire. Learning these skills with the power of zSpace Inspire’s augmented and virtual reality brings education to life, allowing students to better understand hard-to-visualize concepts and practice navigating situations that may be difficult, impossible, would be counterproductive or expensive.
Martian Math is a math fluency game with frameworks for arithmetic functions; Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages and ratios. The game, powered by zSpace’s AR/VR platform, allows elementary school students to practice their math skills in an engaging and fun way to stop aliens from stealing supplies. Adaptive technologies adjust the challenge as students progress.
Let’s Cook takes students of all ages into a virtual kitchen to cook pizza from a recipe. Students use a pen to cut tomatoes, grate cheese, and roll dough to make a pizza, and apply math skills in a real-world application.
“Teachers using zSpace regularly share ideas on how we can expand our content offering to meet classroom needs. We’ve made their ideas a priority and are excited to release Martian Math and the newly revamped Let’s Cook. With these applications, students will be able to develop math fact handling skills while developing conceptual understanding in an exciting and engaging way,” he explained Joe ParlierEd.D., Senior Director of Education at zSpace.
zSpace representatives will be available to discuss Inspire and demonstrate its capabilities at National Conference on the Future of Educational Technology® (FETC 2023) off January 24th to January 26th at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA at booth 943.
